The Bison Hill Grill is our mobile open-air kitchen. We run live-fire events across Surrey, Sussex and Kent — private dinners, corporate events, weddings, festivals, and anything else that benefits from outdoor cooking done properly.

What We Do

We cook outdoors, over live fire, for groups who want the real thing. Not a gas catering rig with a barbecue menu — a proper fire, proper technique, and food cooked the way it should be.

The menu changes with the season and the occasion. The approach doesn’t. Smoke, char, heat management: these aren’t techniques you replicate with controlled gas. They’re the point.

Events We Cover

  • Private garden parties — from intimate dinners for 10 to gatherings of 80+
  • Corporate events — team days, client entertainment, product launches with genuine atmosphere
  • Weddings — informal and formal, from the rehearsal dinner to the reception
  • Festivals and markets — seasonal events across Surrey, Sussex and Kent
  • Pop-ups — short-run collaborations and one-off events

The Kit We Use

We cook on our own products. The Gaucho aprons, the King Fork, the skewers, the blades — everything the Bison Hill Grill operates with is the same equipment we sell. That matters for two reasons: we test our products under real conditions every time we operate, and we know immediately when something needs improving.

When a product gets used during a four-hour cook serving 60 people, its strengths and weaknesses become clear quickly. The Grill is a test environment as much as a business — which is why the Live Fire Standard exists, and why we trust it.

Based in Surrey, Operating Regionally

We’re based in Reigate, Surrey. We operate primarily across Surrey, Sussex and Kent, with selected events further afield. For private events, we’ll travel where the occasion warrants — get in touch and we’ll confirm availability and coverage.

Why Live Fire

Live fire creates something gas and electric cannot replicate: atmosphere. There is a quality to cooking outdoors with real fire that changes the experience for everyone present — the smell, the light, the sound of a fire doing its work. Food cooked over live flame carries a flavour profile that no controlled-heat environment can match.

We believe outdoor cooking should be taken seriously. The Grill is how we prove it.
