February 2026 is Bison Hill’s fourth birthday. We founded the brand in Reigate, Surrey in February 2022, with one product in development and a clear brief: make the best live-fire BBQ kit available in the UK. Here is where the brand stands as it enters its fifth year.
What four years looks like
Fifteen or more products. Eight gift sets from £20 to £200. Forty-plus events per year on the Bison Hill Grill across Surrey, Sussex, and Kent. 109 verified five-star reviews. A brand that appears in outdoor cooking culture organically — on gift lists, in cook communities, at events — not because we placed it there, but because the products earned it.
The four pillars, assessed honestly after four years:
- FIRE-TESTED: every product we sell has been through the full five-stage test process. We cook on all of it, continuously, at real events. Nothing ships without that.
- UK-MADE: every piece is still made here. No exceptions. The embroidery workshop, the English oak, the waxed canvas — all UK, all by hand.
- SMALL BATCH: we inspect every unit before it ships. Volume has grown. The inspection has not been dropped to manage that growth.
- BUY-ONCE: the Gaucho design has not changed in four years. Customers who bought in 2022 have the same product as customers buying today. That is the promise operating as intended.
What we are proudest of
The Gaucho design has not changed in four years because it was right when we signed it off. Four prototypes, eleven months of development, and a Protected Design that covers the specific configuration. We have not needed to revise it because we exhausted the iteration before launch, not after. The buy-once promise only holds if the design was right in the first place. Ours was.
What we are working on in 2026
More of what works. Nothing that compromises what has been built. The gift set range will be made more visible and discoverable. The Grill operation will expand. There is one new product going through the full testing process — not announced yet, not shipped until it has passed every stage.
The brief is the same as it was in 2021. Make the best kit. Hold the standard. Do not cut corners. Four years in, that has not changed.
